President’s message

We are now just over a decade into the 21st Century and the start of 3rd millennium. Perhaps time for reflection on where surgery is going, specifically where hernia surgery is going, might go, or ought to go.  Where should we direct it – for at the end of the day, as surgeons, we are the ones who have control over how our specialty develops.

On a previous page, are listed the aims of the British Hernia Society. Very neat and highly commendable, but meaningless if we don’t make those aims a reality. And to do that we need help from all of you.

My personal commitment is to develop this Society, and along with my fellow Board members to bring to reality the items on that list.

We  would very much value your views regarding how we can do this, and we welcome your suggestions.

So please let us know how you would like to see the society and the website develop, and what other information we should add.  We look forward to hearing from you.
