Hernia Surgery Delphi project

The Scottish Surgical Research Group in collaboration with the British Hernia Society are looking to utilise a Delphi process to democratically identify the highest priority areas in hernia surgery research. It is hoped this process will subsequently inform future research and funding. Please follow us on Twitter @hernia_delphi and @ScotSRG for the most up to date information as the study progresses.

The initial phase will involve clicking on a survey link and submitting your hernia research questions. The next phase will involve the prioritization of these questions by the BHS membership and will also be open to members of the public, with the highest ranked questions moving onto a further prioritization round at a later date. We believe it is vital we gain as many responses as possible to ensure the validity of the process and that all important research questions are included. Contributions from patient stakeholders are also very welcome.

We hope that this Delphi process will focus and lead hernia research over the next few years and has the potential to encourage future collaborative studies across the UK, including those supported through the British Hernia Society.
