Sala Abdalla (Chair)
Sala Abdalla is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with a sub-specialist interest in the management of complex ventral hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR). She is based at the London North West University Healthcare Trust where she has established a dedicated abdominal wall service.
Ms Abdalla is a graduate of Imperial College, London, and has completed her training in London. She is an experienced trainer and has made significant contributions to medical education at Imperial College, and to surgical training within the London School of Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Ms Abdalla is deeply invested in advancing global access to surgical care. She is founder and director of Operation International UK, a surgical charity that provides free surgical services to underserved communities in low-and-middle-income countries. Her charity is a partner organisation with RCS England’s Stefan Galeski Global Surgery Fellowship scheme.
